Concert Day

I've just returned home after the concert performance by Tring Choral Society. We sang two works - The Passion by Haydn and Mass in C by Beethoven. The Haydn Work is interesting but not exceptionally lovely while the Beethoven Mass is delightful and, for once, the Altos get tuneful lines which is rare.  Both works went well and our soloists were excellent.  With a rehearsal this afternoon and the evening's performance it's been a tiring day, so now for a glass of wine to chill down a bit.

We carry straight on at our Monday rehearsals with the Verdi Requiem, one of the best works ever written - although it's challenging in many places. The performance is in July and we should sing to a full hall as it's a bit of a crowd puller. You can't beat a good requiem!!
