Party ....... too much food .....? Really?

The morning continued with preparations.
Iain and Jane cancelled as Iain was sick all night :(. Apart from it being some of our dearest friends, they were also the Sushi contributors,. Party without Sushi? No way! So Neil went out to get some while I was starting to cook 3 kgs of meatballs. I counted them and I had rolled 150 small meatballs! The flat was almost ready. Neil and I work well as a team. That means I do not have to think about everything. So nice!
Neil also brought some more chicken, as we were worried if we had enough. (Sorry MCW!!!)
I also halved about 80 cherry tomatoes in order to stick them on skewers with the marinated mozzarella,  I peeled and halved 20 eggs and "devilled" them, cut the salmon rolls, laid out more salmon, finished the salads, got cheese, olives, salami out. Hand cut a Parma Ham (you pay extra for that in a restaurant ... lol) and finally went for a shower at 5:30 pm. Neil grilled the chicken and prepared the most amazing roast pork (see picture) !
Dougie arrived at 7:30 pm with the 2 cakes and we were almost ready with everything at 8 pm.
First guest arrived with more food! We were struggling to get it on the table! And there was still stuff in the fridge!
More guests were arriving and at some time I was ready for a glass of champagne!
We had 40 people around in the end and it was a great party. People loved it. But we did have too much food!
It was great to catch up with so  many friends, although it was a bit overwhelming at times.
The house started clearing in the early hours and in the end 7 of us were left and it was Espresso Martini time!
The last person left at 7 am!
We dropped to bed - happy and exhausted!
It was a good night!!!!

Blips are only food blips! Neil's famous Roast Pork, the brownies, the macarons .......
No photo of the full buffet and no photographic evidence of the party ... lol :)
I lapsed ..... ;)
