Oban architecture

This morning was the monthly coffee morning of the local U3A group. I went along as I wanted to hear the speaker talk about a water project in Malawi, but somehow it really doesn't seem my kind of thing.

On the way out I noticed the differing architectural styles so tried to get them all in one picture. The white building on the right is the Corran Halls of 1965, a ‘concrete and rather utilitarian building’ as described by the Scottish Places website, next to which can be seen peeping St Columba’s Cathedral, opened in 1959. Next to that, the white church is the former Christ Church of 1957, designed by the church architect Leslie Grahame MacDougall and now a child care nursery, and to the extreme left, the Victorian building is the Alexandra Hotel.
