Not Sweet Enough

This female Anna's hummingbird must be a new guest in my yard because she wasn't familiar with the surroundings.  Hummers are attracted to bright colors, most notably, red.  This little gal tried unsuccessfully several times to get anything to eat from the small glass ball above the swing.  It was funny to watch.  It began with her sitting on the bar just staring up at it.  If only I was a hummingbird mind reader!

Last night, the dumbest comment by a television weatherman ever:
"At 6:00, it's still 86° with a humidity of 8%....  A high pressure system will be moving in so we'll be drying out  over the next couple of days."
My instant thought was, 'Drying out?  How much drier can it get than 8% relative humidity? Zero percent?'  Reality check time!
