Got masses of the stuff growing on the terrace & once you have enough for your annual beer consumption, still have enough to put in the bath water. Leaves a great silky, smooth skin but from personal experience don't try the romantic version (ask Paul & Phil, they are masters in seduction and often use the "rose petals in the bath tub" method) but put the leaves in a string bag. Otherwise you will end up spending an hour getting the leaves out of the drain & from around the bath.
Thanks for the pint in the Ginger Pig. By the way, ginger (Ingwer) has become the real trendy ingredient here in Germany mainly brought about by one of the best known Bavarian chefs Alfons Schubeck. He now owns most of the gastronomy outlets in the Platzl in front of your favourite Munich location.
And yes there are more than one well known Bvarian chefs . OK born in Austria but been here since 1971 and earnt his 3 Stars drinking Bavarian beer.
