One for Emmy

First of all and very important, today was the cinema release in the UK of the documentary film "More than Honey".
The Guardian has a nice, slightly longer, clip of the young queen bee's wedding flight. Get down to your local cinema to see this Blockeebuster!

Now the normal blurb which you read at your own risk:
Weather great otherwise normal Friday. Angie rode then went to Ottobeuren for her speech/breathing therapy session while I pottered around with lots of plans and not achieving anything worthwhile.

Late afternoon MrC (MrsB's brother) stopped by on his way after shaking down after work with a quick bike ride. Only 80km but he was probably a bit tired after a long hot week. When we met him for the first time two weeks ago he showed a bit of interest in Blip and I learnt later from MrB that he was a keen amateur photographer. Well today he brought two albums along. One of them of animals which was wonderful but the one of a holiday in 2011 to the island of Krk in Croatia was spectacular. If I hadn't known, I would have thought it was a book produced by a publishing house and available in all tourist shops on the island. Spectacular photos detailing the island's towns and villages with short informative text. Not a sign of a holiday snap. He had put it together with Apple software and online service and it cost 80 Euros but the quality was excellent. Coincidentally, his holiday took place on exactly the same days as our last holiday, just that we were on the neighbouring island of Rab and I used Blip for my publishing. Perhaps when the days get shorter, wetter and colder, he may look in to Blip a bit more instead of contaminating our local environment with all his burnt off calories.

Promised ourselves an early night, Angie to recover from her extra curicular honey selling activities and I to get ready for an early start tomorrow morning. We ate at a sensible hour but felt a bit groggy with a one sided headache. MrB sent a text message saying he had just shot a deer, asking if I wanted to Blip it. Wasn't feeling up to it and will have to consider long and hard how suitable such a Blip might be! One of Angie's colleagues has asked her to arrange a venison joint and it will probably be from this animal. She is not over enthusiastic about the matter but knows at least that if it has to happen, then at least in the hands of a someone who does it with respect.

I fell asleep when the World Cup football began on TV, waking up shortly after midnight, headache gone but Blip not done. It's going to be a late night again! While loading photo have had Sky News on in the background and the "small island" story being discussed. Liked a recent description of Europe - how it would ideally be:
the English, the police; the French, the cooks; the Germans, the car mechanics; the Italians, the lovers and all organised by the Swiss.
and hopefully never:
the Germans, the police; the English, the cooks; the French, the car mechanics;
the Swiss, the lovers and all organised by the Italians.

I hope all Brits can sleep soundly tonight. Rest assured that Mr & MrsB will continue to hold the British Isles as an important country even if it is at the moment limited to being the home of Pimms. Have a great weekend and hope the weather improves to allow the odd No1 Cup.
