We are not amused!

I was in Homebase this afternoon and saw these anthuriums for sale in the garden centre. I was reminded  of reading an autobiography by Percy Thrower many years ago - Percy has been described as Britain's first celebrity gardener. At one point he described a visit from Queen Mary to the glasshouses in Windsor Great Park, where Percy worked at the time.

On seeing a display of anthuriums she apparently said 'Take these plants away, they're disgusting'!

I've no idea what she meant, of course; whatever could she have been thinking of?
