Bank Corner

You may remember I said a little while back that Novacastrians were plain speakers.  This is Bank Corner.  A place where people used to meet.  It was once close to Wickham station (now no longer in use since the rail was cut), close to the notorious Palais (now an Ibis hotel), a cinema (now a Hillsong church), the Cambridge (a rowdy pub - still there but a little less rowdy) and "The Store" (a department store no longer in use but awaiting redevelopment once the light rail has gone in).  It was a bank of course and now is housed by Architects.  We still call it Bank Corner though and in case you don't believe me, there is sign outside on the footpath to prove it.  See....
