A Sight for Sore Eyes!

Dear Diary,

The snow is receding at a rapid rate.  An area of ground might be snow covered in the morning but by noon it is uncovered and by late in the day signs of growth begin to emerge.  These daffodils are on the south side of my studio, always one of the first areas to melt.  They were such a wonderful sight to see.

The old maple tree in front is budding out and everywhere there is a sense of re-birth.  It is such an uplifting feeling.  Our temperatures are rising again and by Easter they will be in the 70's.  I can't wait.

Now the talk will be about "ice out", an annual tradition around here, trying to guess the date when the ponds will be clear of ice.  It can't happen soon enough for me.
