Explosion!

I love these poppies. I bought the seeds from our neighbours last year who had opened their garden in aid of a local hospice. They had them in abundance in one part of their garden and I had to have some. The buds are amazing, they look like the aliens from 'War of the Worlds' for several days, with a hint of terrific pink widening and slowly splitting the green skin then, usually when you are looking the other way, they explode into this, wow!
