The winners (by a bridge and a half)

Today Haydon Bridge villagers celebrate Easter Monday with their traditional wheelbarrow race through the village. No traffic was stopped but the 8 barrows managed to make their way safely along the main road.

The competitors stop at pubs along the way and have to down a drink at each. These two were at the front from the word go and were well off the bridge and on to the Anchor pub (the 3rd stop) before another pair was anywhere near.

I think they have bionic power in the wheelbarrow!!

It was all good fun.

Had an unexpected blipmeet at the start with Shaaamie.

I'm still sorting through stuff and the job looks as though it will never end.
