Trees

A fabulous morning for a walk. Thank you to Corinthian Column  and husband R for taking me.

Blue sky and sunshine and crisp clear views accompanied us but there was a bite to the wind out of the sunshine.

We did a 5.5 mile circuit from Addingham just over the hill from us in Wharfedale. We walked along a lane that was a bit like the M1 for cyclists! (Extra - the chap at the back was cheating he had a motor)
Passing fields of lambs and the lovely fresh greens of spring on many of the trees. These two rather stark trees caught my attention standing out against the blue of the sky.

Leaving the lane we passed through fields with geese and woods awash with bluebells, to then drop down through Middleton to the River Wharfe at the Old Bridge in Ilkley.
We returned on the other side of the river along part of the Dales Way to the lovely St Peter's church in Addingham. There were still some daffodils in the church yard though most had gone over, but the path to the church was lined with pink blossom trees.

A perfect walk finishing up with a 'Senior's' lunch at the Airedale Heifer on the way back. £4.95 for 'mini' haddock and chips. Sometimes it's good to be old; you can play out and get a cheap lunch!
