Autumn

Today Doug and I decided to do a roadie.....hit the road just after 9 am, and drove lots of back roads, finally ending up in Tekapo.  We did quite a walk along the track which meanders along the lake shore.  We had a late morning tea sitting at a picnic table with the sun almost melting us.  Brilliant weather, cloudless sky's and very warm.
I really didn't know what to blip - take a look at some extras in flickr - the light was sublime early on as we drove up, but once the sun got higher the light wasn't so good.
This one is three images blended, doing it this way sure makes the colours pop.

On the return journey we turned off at Burkes Pass and travelled the scenic Rollesby Valley, but by then I was over photography.  From there we went back to Fairlie where we had a late picnic lunch, then over the hills to Geraldine for a BiG ice-cream before heading back home.....tired.  But a great day out.
