Heptonstall

We decided to re-visit Heptonstall today, simply because it's attractive and we hadn't been there for a long time. I was reminded of the village due to our new £1 coins being in the news recently and the new design supposed to foil attempts at forgery. "King David Hartley" is buried in the churchyard here and apparently he died at the end of a noose in the 18th century for his crime of being the ringleader of the Yorkshire Coiners - a gang of forgers who got away with their crimes largely due to the remoteness of the area in which they lived; the poet Sylvia Plath is also buried here.  My extra was taken at the entrance to the churchyard.

Thank you for the very kind response to yesterday's FF blip, it's much appreciated. :-))
