One last church

Before we left St Pete's this morning, we decided we had time to visit one more church - in spite of heavy snow and treacherous conditions underfoot. We went to the mosaic beauty of the Church on the Spilt Blood. So difficult to believe that all this decor is mosaic!

Then we had a taxi ride best forgotten back to the airport still in heavy slow and slipperiness with taxi driver driving in all lanes at will until he hit two enormous snow and slush filled potholes and his exhaust flew off! This was on an eight lane very busy highway. He stopped, got out of the vehicle, worked back along the toad, picked up the exhaust and shoved it in the back of the van with our luggage!

Lots of snow evident over Russia from the plane.

Home now so plenty to do! Photo book coming up!

On retuning home

Flying high up in the sky
We see the snow below.

Flying home, cross land and sea
We ponder what we've seen.

Flying high, young Baltic shores
We think of what we've learnt.

Flying high to Heathrow, dry
,we wonder at our world...
