Tranquil scene down by the River Len

Another day of two halves really. The morning was spent preparing for and chairing a teleconference with our learning platform champions in prisons and other stakeholders. These always go OK in the end but I'm never at ease leading a meeting where you can't see the participants. And the technology doesn't always work smoothly as in this case. The conference call administrator couldn't access the call to be able to admit all the participants, which held us up for 10 minutes or so.

The afternoon felt like a release, time for a walk and time to lay a brick edge around a new bed at the side of the greenhouse. Using old bricks with moss on meant when finished it looked as if it had always been there.

The evening was spent at Wetherspoons with friends Chris and Wendy. The place was heaving when we went in as Maidstone were playing Lincoln City nearby and this was the nearest pub to the ground. It cleared by 7.30 and we were finished by 9.30 so we didn't get caught in the post match crush either. It was Steak Night, meat was good but despite asking for medium rare and medium they all came well done, cooked right through.
