A Bumper Day

WRPerry and I had a fabulous morning at Riley's Lock and Hughes Hollow. We had to wear our rubber boots because there was so much mud and water from the recent days of rain but it was still worth the trip.  We got shots of Blue Herons, Prothonotary Warblers, the rear of a Baltimore Oriole, Tree Swallows (see WRPerry's beautiful blip for today) and a little Gnat Catcher which I have loaded into extra. The Gnat Catcher seemed to be either recycling one of last year's lichen-laden nests or was pilfering some other Gnat Catchers nest as it kept coming back for a beakful of materials and heading off out of range.

And who is this masked bird?  This is a Common Yellow-throated Warbler, which I thought was my best shot of the day. It's much better in large for some reason.
