Amwell Pochard

A fifth BT/Openreach engineer came this morning and says that he has found and fixed the cause of my broadband problems at the exchange. It does seem to be behaving much better.

I went for a walk at Amwell Nature Reserve for the first time in a while. It was lovely to hear the warblers in the reeds and to see the terns. I don't think I've ever photographed a pochard before so I've blipped this handsome male. My extra is a whitethroat, a summer visitor that I was delighted to see.

Today's poem is Felix Randal by Gerard Manley Hopkins. https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems-and-poets/poems/detail/44394

It's late and I haven't read it properly but the horseshoe dubbed a sandal to rhyme with Randal made me smile.
