SillySaturday30: HitchHiker

Spent another beautiful morning with Loisbiz at the Sweetwater Wetlands Park here in Gainesville. This young alligator was no doubt hiding out from the much larger 'gators we saw! The young ones are all too often seized and eaten their older relatives. I could tell that this was a young one not only because it was small, not more than 4' in length, but also the stripes used for camoflauge were still plainly evident on it's tail. These disappear as the 'gator gets older. The dragonfly, probably a Green Darner, was resting on the 'gator's forehead...Silly Thing!  Wait, doesn't that look like a smile on the 'gators face? hahaha
In today's *Extras*...a Yellow Lotus and a Purple Gallinule turning over Water Lily leaves searching for Apple snails (yum), which attach themselves to the underside of the leaves.

Many thanks to Admirer for continuing to host SillySaturday!
