I spent a lot of time on this praying mantis.  It was perched on the side of the compost bin feasting on small fly type insects.  There was no shortage of them scurrying around near the lid.  In the end I like this portrait of it with just the head in focus and the body falling away.  The forester was digging up the clay for me while I spent time with my friend. The afternoon brought cool rain so no walking any further up the hill today.
