A Day Worth Recording

Lawnmower Man

In 2016 there were a couple of moderately complex boardgames published that attracted incredible amounts of hype. One of these was Scythe which looks, on the face of it, a bit of a miniatures wargame.

Although miniature wargaming is not my thing I wanted to have a go at it to see what the fuss was about, and this weekend's game do provided the opportunity.  Turns out that the combat side of the game is very much secondary, and that really it's a resource management style of game.

And indeed - a pacifist approach by the blue faction (with workers looking worryingly like smurfs) led me to a narrow win against more experienced players.
