Windows

This was a very full on day  spent in East Cork, as far as you can go before you bump into Waterford. Four really beautiful wells, a yomp around Youghal, a paddle at Ballycotton (seriously cold and necessary as I had stood in what I thought was a dry manure heap - it wasn't) and  then a mooch around Ballymaloe. This is the home/farm/cookery school of Darina Allen, an incredibly famous Irish cook - is she known across the water? All food from the veg to the meat is produced on site and organically. There are acres of ornamental gardens, kitchen gardens, farms etc to wander around but I was entranced by the shell summer house. Yes, the walls are completely covered in shells and done in the most complex patterns. All that but no café and I was parched by then!

Had I mentioned that this week's Derelict Sunday theme is Windows!! A few more in the extras.
