Reflecting

A day in which we spent time with relatives and friends. S' cousin had come to Auckland for various things and we had an enjoyable visit with her. Late in the afternoon, I took a walk/jog around Western Springs Lake, and the extra was taken just before I ended and left. The sun was very low and bright, and I hadn't noticed the Karoro (Herring gull) in front of it. What I had seen and was trying to show, were the numerous wee Welcome Swallows, flitting about close to the surface of the water, catching insects.

We then went to dinner with friends, whose travels frequently absent them from Auckland. A very nice restaurant in the old Ferry Building, close to where they come to the central city from out south. After dinner, while they waited for their return ferry, we went to look at an interesting artwork on Queens Wharf.

What is a representation of a two storey State House (from the 1950s), with many more windows to allow looking inside, contains fluorescent light tubes in shapes showing various constellations, reflecting off a sculpture of Captain James Cook, appearing to be reflecting.
