A Band's-Eye View

Today was Flora Day, an annual celebration of the coming of spring. And the heavens opened! It didn't dampen the sprits though with large crowds enjoying the day's events including the spectacular midday dance with men in top hats and tails and ladies in long dresses led through the streets by the Helston Town Band for whom I get invited back to play each year, a real privilege I must add.

Here the dancers make a spiral before the midway break accompanied by champagne and other beverages. Talking of which, my extra is taken at The Blue Anchor a very traditional thatched pub in the main street where they brew a very drinkable ale known as Spingo, here being poured direct from the barrel through a small rubber tube. Drink too much at your peril, hic!

The Cadwith Singers were also performing Cornish songs and sea shanties at 'The Blue'. So, as many do, we joined in of course. There's nothing like a good old alcohol-fueled singalong :)

Fish n chips fot tea to finish a brilliant brilliant day.

A back-blip posted for yesterday btw.
