An Eventful Day

Mrs K and Jess decided to come down for a one night stopover joining me and Andy on our long weekend away. They started off early and stopped off at Padstow to take Millie pups for a run on the beach while we visited family and friends then we all met up at the National Trust owned Trellisick Gardens.

After a light lunch we headed off across the field down to the beach on the first leg of the 5-mile circular walk. All was well until I decided to let pups off the lead. However, since the field is frequently used to graze cows and she has, well, a liking for cow pats - rolling in them - and it was a fresh one!! OMG.

Straight down to the beach and into the water with Andy washing her down with seaweed to avoid getting too hands-on, can you imagine?! Now, of course, this was a blip opportunity not to be missed so I sat on the beach clicking away and laughing out loud until, that is, I realised that I'd sat on a very wet patch of sand and was absolutely wet through to the skin; running down my legs it was, haha hoho, payback time :) The next four and a half miles of the walk was pretty squelchy to say the least.

Never mind, we left Trellisick with me leading the way only to find that Mrs K had unexpectedly dropped behind out of sight. Moments later Andy's phone went to hear Mrs K confirming that she'd got a puncture! Luckily me and Andy were able to replace it with the space saver wheel and so it's off to the garage first thing tomorrow to get it repaired or replaced. What joy. It could have happened while we weren't there and so could have been worse.

Still, back to our accommodation for Mrs K to bath the dog and us all to shower and change before going to Newlyn Meadery meeting up with Mrs K's mum and dad for a very enjoyable meal and a stroll along the sea front afterwards.

What an eventful day.

An extra too.
