Enfolded tulip

The more I look at tulips the more evident it is that their beauty lasts even after the flowers have gone over. This one looks as if it's drawing back under the protection of its enfolding petals. They're such gestural flowers that it's no wonder they've inspired gardeners and artists for centuries. 

That's a month of blips now. Not many compared to the old hands, but it's been an enjoyable start and I hope will inspire me to keep looking.
