Aerial Sunset

We did walk 2 of the superb Eastern Crete 'Sunflower' book of 11 car tours and 50 walks (we also have the Western Crete one) which was the 4.3 mile walk through Kritsa Gorge, in gorgeous sunshine. The bottle of ice melted nicely to quench the thirst in near 30C as we climbed up the rocks of a former river bed.

Afterwards we enjoyed refreshments in the lovely village of Kritsa, where a walk around it provided the photo of the lovely church (blip extra) with two locals watching the world go by.

We got back to the hotel at 4pm where I tucked into a book called 'The Gangbuster' by Peter Bleksley given to me by Ron whom who was with his wife, Lyn, on a recent cruise on The Danube. He was keeping the book for his son, Paul, a very high ranking Police Officer in The Midlands but gave it to me as we got off the ship as he knew I'd enjoy it due to my previous occupation. A lovely couple; his wife is terminally ill and has outlived her diagnosis of 3 months by 10 years!

The main blipfoto is taken of the sun setting as seen from our balcony in Koutouloufari. The lens is at a distance of 1200mm (full frame equivalent) so has compressed everything nicely. The sky really was that red!
