A time for everything

The knife-sharpener

Thursday
We had a mix of nature and city today, spending some time at Bailey's Tract in the morning, photographing birds and alligators before hanging out at the pool for a few hours. Then mid to late afternoon we headed into Fort Myers for a walk around the downtown area near the river, and following a sculpture walk. The exhibition, Allure your senses, features larger than life sculptures by Edgardo Carmona, a Colombian artist. Edgardo was born in Cartagena, Columbia, and studied mechanical engineering, business administration, fine arts, painting and sculpture. The exhibit was initially set up early last year, but seems to have been maintained indefinitely. He develops “likable characters that make Cartagena, Colombia, what it is”. Since 2003, his artwork has been exhibited in South America, Germany and then an 18-city tour of Europe.
