Lines and a Bit of a Circle

13.9C with rain in the morning then dry and brightening through the afternoon with plenty of cloud about. Wind S/SE/SSE to 24 mph with gusts to 34 mph.

Grocery shopping.

We went the ten miles or so South to Southend then followed the road round past Dunaverty beach and Kiel to Carskey Bay. Some seals on the rocks with more in the sea next to the shore at Kiel. We could see a tall ship out at sea making for a turn round the Mull as we drove from Kiel to Carskey.

At Carskey we walked along to the far end and came back again. There were plenty of waves breaking on the beach and plenty of Gannets diving just off the shore. The little Terns were having a much more difficult time spotting anything to dive for. On the beach there were Oystercatchers and Sanderlings. We picked up some stones as we walked to top off a pot in which we had put a little Acer we bought at the supermarket this morning. I wasn't much inspired with the camera, so this seaweed with lines and a bit of a circle is it !

There were two boxes of eggs for sale at Little farm's roadside stand today. Price increase! They also had bags of Rocket and Foxgloves, some sort of succulent plant, and Alchemilla Mollis. We bought some eggs and an Alchemilla Mollis plant which will go in the garden somewhere.

Later Apothecary7 was painting.

Afternoon music ... BBC Radio 2.
