Quod oculus meus videt

End of the Road

Our first full day in Northumberland.  We decided to check out some riding stables.  Someone (else!) may be enjoying a beach ride this weekend.

Then we headed down the coastal route, starting at Lindisfarne.  We arrived just passed the safe time for crossing and even as we watched the seas rolled in and obliterated the causeway in front of us.  Some intrepid (foolish) souls still attempted the crossing, before bailing out at the last minute.  This required them to carry out a three point turn on the narrow road, while the waters rapidly approached them.

We then followed the route down, past Bamburgh Castle, to Seahouses and then onto Dunstanburgh castle.  All in all a very impressive coastline, which I hope to give some attention to in the early mornings later this week.

The Wi-Fi is patchy where we are so I apologise for the lack of responses.  I will put a Flickr album together when we get back as this is truly a wonderful part of the UK and I am taking plenty of photographs.
