Madrid to Manchester

I took this at the moment our plane was about to launch itself skyward. The image looks rather abstract, which I quite like.

In the distance, above the terminal building, can be seen the four towers of the Cuattro Torres business district, which featured in my blip of 10 days ago. Some of the tallest towers in Europe, they occupy Real Madrid's former training ground.

Our Ryanair flight departed from Gate B25. The plane alongside, at Gate B26, was headed for Lima. A Europa Air flight, it was a Boeing Dreamliner, and was called the "Julio Inglesias", with a picture of the man himself painted towards the tail fin (are his teeth really that white). I imagine it will always be a Smooth flight on that plane !

We've had a really good holiday in Spain. Arriving in Manchester, it is not as we left it. It is both baffling and desperately sad.
