Broken Bones and Fireworks

The kids school was holding its fireworks night tonight and having heard it's a pretty impressive event we decided to come down.
I spent some time this afternoon studying fireworks photography and was excited to finally discover how to use the Live Time feature on the Oly.

We were about halfway to Sydney when Graham rang to say Hugh had fallen out of the tree in the backyard and broken his arm.
So much for all that OH & S friendly stuff you bounce on at playgrounds. They will find a way......
By the time we arrived Bec had taken him to hospital and Graham was trying to organise the other three.

We took them off to the show anyway and although my enthusiasm was somewhat dampened I did manage to get a few shots.
The fireworks were right overhead so not a good angle for the tripod but I am very excited about the potential of Live View Time which is so easy to use. Once set, you click and it keeps exposing till you click again. All the while the image is continually updated on the screen so you can see when the exposure is right to stop.

Meanwhile Hugh is now in theatre having BOTH broken arms fixed.
The darling that she is, Elizabeth bought him a light gun at the school thing and sent it in with Graham tonight.
We got a picture back and he is just about smiling :-)
