A grand day out (Day 753)

The morning wander up the hill was much earlier than usual, and after sorting a few things out at home, my beautiful wife and I zoomed across to Coldomo where we kidnapped Ej and dragged her off to Hoy for the day.
At Lyness, we stopped in to see friends of Ej's who decided to come with us for a wander up to the cliffs above The Old Man of Hoy. You can just about make them out in one of today's extras. The other extra is Ej spotting puffins.
We left The Old Man, just as the tourists started to arrive in droves, and we headed back down to Rackwick for a bit of wave watching and a spot of lunch.
Ej's friends left us and we drove up to Wee Fea, where the shell of the wartime communications building stands. It is  huge and will be revisited when we have more time and torches. It is great for a bit of urban exploration.
We had a quick whizz round the museum at Lyness before the boat back to Houton. After dropping Ej off at home, we had dinner with mum and dad and collected Evie the wonderdog who is staying with us whilst Mum and Dad are south for Dad's checkup.
It has been an utterly fabulous day. We have walked a fair distance and the dogs are shattered.

(Interested parties will be disappointed to learn that because of prevailing weather conditions there was no skinny dipping today.)
