Memorial Day

Today is supposed to be a memorial to all those who have died in service to our country. It has also come to be the unofficial holiday marking the beginning of summer. The smell of barbecues drifts over the neighborhood as people, including us, gather with friends, family and neighbors for beer and burgers.

It is also Mono Monday, and it seemed appropriate to me to show our country's flag in black and white. In fact, until we have a president and a legislature who stand for the values upon which this country was founded, I will continue to see the flag in the colors of mourning.
