Tabarca Mural

We have had fun today. It is my elder girl's birthday so, to celebrate, the three of us took a trip to Tabarca, an island a few miles off the coast here on the Costa Blanca for a long lunch and walkabout.

The boat ride over takes about half an hour. We chose the smaller, faster option on the way over. This was an interesting ride as the waves were relatively large and it was a bit bumpy! On the return we were on a larger vessel and the ride was much smoother or, maybe, the wind had dropped a bit.

We had a lovely lunch which took a bit of time and then spent more time looking at the island. I have been there on many occasions but there's always something new to see or another way to look at something. The three of us each opted to do different things for the hour before catching the return boat and I went for a wander around the 'inhabited' part. I noticed this mural on the end of one building. Not many people live here but there are places to rent and, I noticed today, there is a new hotel. There are no cars on Tabarca and all tourists must catch the last ferry back, which is around 6.30 pm, so it would be an interesting place to be in the evening and early morning......I will consider that for another time.

Back at the villa we shared a bottle of bubbly to celebrate Ali's birthday and then chilled for the rest of the evening.
