Puppy Love.

Back Blip.

Another totally amazing day in Alaska.

We docked in Juneau. The Capital City of Alaska.

Before our trip, I had lookedinto excursions and we all decided together that we would like to do the Helicoper tour to the Mendenhall Glacier where we could go Mushing with Huskies. It was hugely expensive but we all felt it was worth doing something a bit different.

We had docked by 7.30, was off the ship by 9 which gave us time to find our tour guide and have a mooch around the shops.

We were then taken to the Helicopter 'garage' for 10.30 where we had a 20 minute flight over some stunning scenery and glaciers, to the camp where hungreds of dogs and their 'Mushers' were. We had the chance to meet the dogs, ride the sledge and stear it. Our guide was fabulous with a great ence of humour.

I was a little worried before we went about how the dogs were kenneled and if they were happy, but after seeing how excited they get when its their turn to 'mush', I felt much happier.

We were lucky with the weather as about half an hour later, they were threatening to cancel the trips due to bad weather. It was perfect for us and even though it was cloudy, we still needed sunglasses.

Once we were done, we were given the opportunity to cuddle a 12 day old puppy. This little chap whimpered in my arms. I was so tempted to slip him in my pocket!!!

We then had the helicopter ride back down to base where we were taken back to the ship.

We spent a few hours shopping and popped into the Red Dog Saloon which was quite amusing! Plenty of buxom women  serving in old style dress to amuse the boys!
