X rated damselflies

Friday 9th June 2017 (1749)

The weather changed again and we were rewarded with a lovely sunny and warm day, so much so that coats could be discarded. We spent the day at Loughrigg Tarn. Not only did we have lovely landscapes but there were also lots of damsel flies around and it was certainly mating time. We caught them everywhere, including on John's finger ... sorry for the scary pic! :-))

We were also entertained by the swans. One male soon got nicknamed Mr Angry as quite a few times he steamed across the lake to shoo another one away, it made for some good photos of swans taking off.

We went out for dinner as a group and then returned for our final photo session. Just to prove I have done some landscape photos this week I've posted an extra.

It has been a great group to be part of, with lots of fun and laughter, a great tonic. The weather was a disappointment but it made for an interesting and varied week which was thoroughly enjoyable. Thanks to the group and especially to John and Deb for looking after us so well. The only complaint is that the week was too short and went far too fast.
