Pear Core

I came down stairs this morning and the dogs had been at some nonsense in the night. They had knocked over some coffee pods for the machine. Some fruit was missing from the bowl. A sugar dish was on its side on the floor amid a horrible sticky mess. There was no actual sugar left. Instead of his usual hearty greeting Caley was jumping my head height hyper fashion from a sugar high.

"Gracious me!"

It was a bright breezy morning and a shame to "waste" it on one of the usual local walks. We drove ten miles up the road and walked in to Lochan na h-Earba. What ever the weather, it never disappoints.

To add to the entire wholesome outdoor experience We always take a few bits of fruit with us. The dogs get to know this. While the main attractions for them here are the vast stretches of open hillside, the ample swimming opportunities and the amazing sandy beach, there is the tantalising prospect of a pear core treat at some point too.

Bruce had already had his from Mhairi and I threw Caley his one a few seconds later. It was well caught and munched in seconds and his leap was very similar to the one he greeted me with first thing this morning.
