Wild Wednesday: The Pocket Scavenger

Today has been a really bad news day. Starting with the tower block fire in Kensington, to a politician being shot in Virginia to people being shot in California... it's not been easy watching the news. So, so, sad the state of the world.

My blip is of the book that G found last night whilst tidying up her bookcase (yes, that is my real name there). It was my birthday present from a few years ago, but I haven't really got into it. Yet. I've been too preoccupied with other things.

In case you are wondering what a "Scavenger" is, the Pocket Scavenger describes it as this...

Scavengers...

- go on mini adventures no matter where they are, especially in the most mundane of circumstances
- notice the ground beneath their feet, prowl the world looking for treasures
- see beauty in simple items, when sometimes others do not
- know that all objects can be imbued with special powers
-are interested in transforming simple objects into works of art
- often have collections of items in the bottom of their bag, scattered about their home, or hidden in a yard somewhere
- are always prepared to collect and will go to great lengths to do so, even occasionally putting themselves in precarious situations

She's got ideas of us going on scavenger hunts this summer, especially as our holiday budget is significantly reduced! ;)

And on a happier note, I am so happy that Pakistan are through to the final of the Champions Trophy beating England by 77 runs! Commiserations to my British blip buddies but there is rarely positive news where Pakistan is concerned, so I am really pleased. [G isn't!!]
