Ann and Arvin - Oil on Canvas - 22" x 28"

I am still working on the painting I'm doing of me and Arvin. I still haven't braved working on the hands but I'm getting somewhere with the faces. Trish had a suggestion today that I show this painting and the other portrait I did of Arvin at the celebration of his life a week from Sunday. Not sure I'll be done by then but I like the idea. Here is how it looked after I worked on it two weeks ago.

As you can see, I painted in open studio today. The place was packed! It was like the "good old days" with ten of us working side by side. There was even one guy, Judge Dave, who made several comments about being in a group of women. Made me smile. I've known Dave for quite awhile. He and his wife Dot were on one of our favorite trips with Wade and Tonie Marlow, to Tuscany. We had a blast on that trip. My brothers were both there, and my sister-in-law and our friends Rick and Judy.

Thank you all so much for all your comments, stars and hearts on the photo of Arvin as a young man. After I posted it I noticed he had a wedding ring on so he was most likely 21 or 22 when the photo was taken, not 19. Still, much younger than I ever knew him.
