From the allotment

A simple entry today following the week of canal images from all possible and some impossible angles. Very hot. Too hot to do anything energetic. Even too hot to pick stuff at the allotment but we needed to go to see how it was after a week away. When you're not watching stuff, including weeds, grows quickly. Able to harvest the first beetroot as well as a good pile of strawberries.

We were planning a walk but that got pushed back later and later until in the event we didn't go at all. I cycled off to Tesco's for a few supplies to tied us over until the order is delivered on Tuesday. Barbara and Doreen came down in the afternoon. We sat outside under the umbrella chatting. Barbara has been with Doreen while we've been away.

Had the first barbecue in the evening, courtesy of Mr Tesco. I was surprised to find he still had charcoal and barbecue products left. We enjoyed burgers and sausages and probably annoyed the neighbours for a while with smokey emissions while the charcoal reached temperature.

Had a good chat with both sons during the afternoon which made Father's Day for me.
