Leopard moth

Today was FAR TOO HOT!!! even for me!
Luckily my moth trap is coming up trumps with lots of lovely and new species for my little urban garden.
This beauty is a Leopard moth Zeuzera pyrina, a southern species associated with woodlands, gardens and orchards, as the larvae feed on the wood of various deciduous trees.
It is quite a strange moth with spotty sparely scaled wings and a long stripy abdomen, one of my favorites!
