Scrappy

This little guy has lost some of his wing feathers, making me think he as been in some challenges for his territory. The yard was quite busy with hummingbird activity and I had my 100mm lens on. Not the ideal lens, but the 400mm is way to heavy right now for me to manage. 

This is cropped quite a bit, but I was only about 6 feet away from him. They are used to me being in "their" yard, so they aren't as skittish as most. I was standing too close to one of the feeders and a female buzzed by me, trying to get me to move. 

I am grateful that my little flying jewels are always there for a photo opportunity and keep me entertained.
