THEY STILL WORK - SILLY SATURDAY ON SUNDAY

I do like to take part in the various challenges and as I didn’t take part in Silly Saturday yesterday, decided it would be a good idea to do it today - and of course, the date is just right.

It is now just six months until it is Christmas Day, so what better day to test the Christmas tree lights?  We no longer take all these off on Twelfth Night, but just move the tree complete with lights into a spare bedroom and of course, it is always a good idea to test them at least once in the year before the actual date.

As well as not taking the lights off the tree, Mr. HCB decided, after we had thicker insulation put into our loft, that there would be no more “junk” put up there.  I cannot believe that he thinks the box full of Christmas tree baubles, tinsel and our Nativity set is “junk” but it was his decision, so again, that has to live somewhere, so into the same spare bedroom it goes.  Of course, if ever we have visitors to stay overnight, it all goes into another bedroom!

You will see from the tree - that I have done some fartnarkling with one of my apps, and if you look carefully, you will also see the angel on top that our older son made when he was about 5 years old and in his first class at school.

Our lovely neighbour next door, Lynn, was thrilled about a month after Christmas when she went to Morrisons and got several packs of crackers for £1 instead of £4, so as we share many things, she gave one to us - and you can see that box too.

Off to church soon for our Celebration Sunday - perhaps I should remind them that it is Christmas Day in six months - in these difficult days, it is good to look forward to something!

"Christmas is the perfect time
to celebrate the love of God and family
and to create memories that will last forever.
Jesus is God's perfect, indescribable gift.
The amazing thing is that not only are we able
     to receive this gift,
but we are able to share it with others
               at Christmas and
EVERY OTHER DAY OF THE YEAR."
