Where the poppies grow,

The final day of the trip. A blast along the Somme valley to Amiens with a tail wind and then back up the other side. Lovely rolling roads. Mainly smooth. Hardly any traffic. Riding as a group helping each other into the wind on the return leg.

Back to Abbeville for lunch. I had a fantasy image of restaurants with terraces serving Sunday lunch. Families strolling around. Roller bladers flashing by. Not a bit of it though. It was dead with one restaurant which refused to serve the 11 of us and one bakers where we ended up having a baguette and can of pop.

No one else in the main square apart from one couple in which jackets to keep the wind off.

Gosh, some of these towns in northern France are facing a tough time.
