Abbots Bromley Horn Dancer

Abbots Bromley is famous for it's historic horn dance which is the oldest dance to be continually performed. It's first performance was in 1226. The horns are ancient reindeer antlers which have been carbon dated to be over 1000 years old and wooden heads were added somewhere in the mists of time. It was great to see the dance being performed (I knew about it but had never seen it) and to hear about it's origins. There is a section about it taken from a BBC documentary here.
There is a photo of them dancing in the extras.

I supported friends from the band that were doing a tune workshop then spent the evening playing with manyothers at a session in the village pub. It was great to find a pub piano there which I played (it was in tune too!) There's a photo of that in extras too.
