Today's the day .......................... to operate

A late blip at the end of a long day.

It began with an early start and a drive from Kendal to Edinburgh - leaving the house in the capable hands of June and Li.  They were off themselves in the afternoon to catch a train to Manchester where they planned to spend a few days.

The reason for us travelling to Edinburgh was so that Will could have a much-needed operation on his back.  The call had come that there was a vacancy on the surgeon's list - and if Will could get to the hospital today, then he could fill it.  That was all the encouragement that he needed - and in the late afternoon, he was on his way to the operating theatre.  I'm pleased to tell you that all went well and when I saw him this evening, he was in good form.

There was no time to take pictures today.  But here's one of the beautiful waterlilies on the pond at Ron and Margaret's house .....................
