Firth of Forth

Today's the day ............................. to blow away the cobwebs

A lovely, if rather breezy day here in Edinburgh - just right for a walk along the promenade at Cramond on the Firth of Forth.

Lots to see, like the third and newest Forth Bridge away in the distance.  It is due to open for road traffic at the end of the summer and you could just about see the top of it towering over the famous Forth Railway Bridge.  There was also the faint outline of the Royal Navy's new aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth which has left its home port of Rosyth for the first time to carry out some sea trials.

The wind would have been perfect for this windsurfer heading out to the water's edge.  Poor Maisie just about got blown away as she rushed after her ball - or tried to stand on the little wall between the prom and the beach (see extra).

The other extra is the patient recovering well in hospital.  Thank you for all your words of sympathy yesterday - they were much appreciated ..............................!
