Brian's Garden Journal 3 July 2017

I have taken  a different viewpoint for these latest pictures. I moved onto an area we call The Meadow. It is a mown area almost surrounded by trees .

Just lately I have been seeing a lot of Jackdaws passing over, and they are always chattering to each other. This one (top left) stopped on a tree top briefly before moving on with the others.

There have been two Pied Wagtails visiting the lawn over the last few days. They dart around in all directions with the occasional leap into the air, trying to catch insects,

This Young Robin (centre) is around a lot usually near the feeders and bench, and today was sunning itself on the round.

The blackbirds also frequent this area and this one was taking a rest on Alice's Bench. Our house, which is a large Georgian building, is divided into 11 flats but we all share the 4 acre garden. Before 1980 it was an old people's home and this bench dates from that time.

A young Greater Spotted Woodpecker has started coming to the feeders next to the bench. ( bottom right) and was there yesterday
