Fragrance

Our native violets don't have a scent at all, so it's always a nice surprise when the sweet violets flower.  I have what I call a woodland garden, which is all of a metre wide and two metres long, under a couple of struggling flowering cherries, but the violets seem to like it there, and always spring back to life at the first sign of winter rains.

Spent the best part of the afternoon at a meeting - it wasn't too arduous, and certainly not at all controversial, but I would rather have been at home with my poor neglected George.
